Grown in the highlands of Malaysia, in hills rising more than 5,000 feet above sea level, this delicious tea offers the best of the historic Boh Estates. Gold blend is plucked from only the tender new shoots of the Manipuri and Rajgur jats, two top quality varieties of tea plants originally from Assam. The tea, when steeped, smells of wood and fruit. The light-to-medium body provides a distinctive, earthy flavor with lingering soft, berry finish. It is a broken orange pekoe grade, ideal for teabags, but has flavor and cut broad enough to be brewed in teapots. We love this tea iced in the summer. For those who create their own blends, we recommend this tea as a versatile base which accentuates the characteristics of other ingredients.
